Distribution Research

Image
Once a film is created, the studio makes a licencing agreement with a distribution company. The distribution company then takes over and works on distributing the film to an audience. The company then decides how many copies of the film will be distributed. A copy of the film gets shown to possible buyers to include on their theaters. The distribution company and the buyers then negotiate on the lease of the film. Once it is negotiated, the film is sent to theaters. On the opening day, the film is shown and it is shown until it is specified to end. People buy a ticket for the films and with that money, the theater makes the payment of the lease and returns the film. For my film, I would utilize this distribution process. By distributing my product this way, it could attract teens and young adults that attend movie theaters frequently.

Target Audience- Revisions

In order to attract the target audience of teens and young adults in my film, revisions could be made. I could change the costumes of some of the characters to more trend clothing, that teens would like. I could include music that attracts teens, like popular music or music on the charts. The romance aspect of my film still attracts most of the target audience, but the revision ideas I listed could ensure I attract my target audience. Original Costumes Revised, More Trendy Costume

Target Audience Research- Titanic

The target audience for the film The Titanic was for a wide range  of people. The romance aspect attracted some younger audiences, similar to my film. The audience may also be older generations, considering it is a historical event and a classic movie. The movie was initially intended for adults, and many people were worried if the film would be successful or not. The romance included in the film brought in young adults and teens.
